With Damnoen Saduak Floating Market and River Kwai Bridge Tour, you will travel 2 places of the most important sightseeing in Thailand.

Damnoen Saduak Floating Market and River Kwai Bridge one day tour is worth visiting if you have limit of time in travelling in Thailand and want to visit as many places as possible. You will learn Thai cultural and historical from famous sightseeing of the World. Both places are well-known and has been added on many films and movies in Hollywood.

Bangkok Damnoen Saduak Floating Market lies between Nakhon Pathom and Samut Songkhram, around 68 miles (109 km) southwest of Bangkok. The unique image of a traditional Thai floating market, like this one at Damnoen Saduak, is a powerful one for tourists to visit the way of forming an intrinsic part of community life in the canals near Bangkok. Damnoen Saduak Floating Market is one of the most popular sightseeing tour from Bangkok because you can only see it in Thailand. The boat venders sell mostly fruit and vegetables on open Thai original boats along the slender canals. There are many stall traders selling a range of deliciously fresh produce. The boats at Damnoen Saduak Floating Market floating market’re paddled mostly by girls, who wear huge lampshade hats and the familiar Thai traditional ancient unique blue shirts of the farming community.

The River Kwai Bridge and railroad are largely modern constructions that replaced the original work of the Japanese River Kwai bridge. The Thai government eventually took over responsibility for it all after the end of the war, tearing down some of the River Kwai bridge and the River Kwai railroad as far as Nam Tok for the scrap iron. The government later requested help from the Japanese in the form of war reparations, and these included the replacement of the central girders with the present flat, boxy structures.

Although the story of the construction and destruction of the River Kwai bridge is charged with emotion, the modern-day crossing can be a disappointment—just a seemingly run-down wood and iron bridge mounted on ungainly concrete pillars. It comes to life when the twice-daily train departs Kanchanaburi and slowly makes its way across the rickety structure, on its way north to the terminus at Nam Tok. You can walk onto the wooden planks of the River Kwai bridge, but it’s also used by local motorcyclists, so be careful.

Around the River Kwai Bridge

Several minor but worthwhile sights are located near the famous River Kwai bridge. These include an old steam engine, which dates from the 1940s, and a curious Japanese supply truck that could run on both road and rails. Just south of the River Kwai bridge, cafés overlook the Kwai river, and there are souvenir shops. An art gallery nearby is notable for its contemporaty murals.

A Japanese memorial in the area, raised in 1944, is euphemistically dedicated to those who “died through illness during the course of the construction of River Kwai bridge.”
