Thai tourism arrivals up 7 percent
Thailand tourism scored a growth of 7% during the first month of the year, despite terror threats and the aftermath of the floods late last year.

  PHUKET PERANAKAN
Peranakan is a Malay word that means "born of". It refers to the children of intermarriages called Peranakan meaning that they are born locally and are of mixed blood. The word is used to identify the descendants of the first Chinese settlers in southern Thailand and peninsular Malaysia and their locally-born wives.
